Jan 2010

Happy New Year

First of all i must apologise for the delay in updating the Jan news page, what with the flu and cold ripping its way around our house hold as i imagine quite a few others as well this winter, things have been delayed, anyway hopefully we have kicked it out the front door for this new year and we can get back to enjoying the wonderful scenery that the snow has created, a few members have been out with the cameras , but not many fishing, well have you tried to find anywhere apart from the rivers that is still fishable, only place i have heard of in and around our area is Welham, Malton which always is the last to freeze up due to the fresh springs that feed it, but if you intend to visit any water at the moment then please contact them first as it more than likely be a wasted journey , that’s if you can get there in the first place as the roads on the country lanes could we be shocking to pass.

A few of the scenery pics below

One fish caught at the start of the year was this stunning pike caught by sparkin, what a great result for putting the time on the bank, well worth the freezing temps

Please remember frozen lake/ponds and rivers are very dangerous at this time of year, stay off the frozen water, you can go thru in a second, and in a second you can be under and in trouble

lynda if you click on the discussion forum and register yourself, ask the same question on there as there is a much better chance of getting a reply. We also have get togethers and there are some very helpful and good anglers from all across the county that fish with each other and help each other out.Maybe there is somebody near you that can go fishing with you too.
Hope you join and best of luck,
Gary
