Final OS Match

This years final match takes place this saturday at Pine Lakes, Thorne, the table at the moment is quite open with the top two fishing for the crown of top rod of the year, if these matches interest you there are still places going , just join the forum and ask to be added in the match section, its that easy.

the full list of 2009 matches are also on the forum with dates so get yourself booked on

Carping Overnighter

The first of a new thing we are doing from within the forum, they are open to all members , all we ask is you have the correct gear for carpingand you are aged over 16 (unless your perents full permission is given and checked), there is going to be two of these every year moving venues around the four counties the site covers.

the first is here at Newbridge Lakes, Heddon, Hull

NewbridgeLake.jpg

7 acres of prime carp fishing, with fish to well over 30lbs and alot of back up fish in and around the 20 lb mark this is a perfect venue for our first overnighter, the banter has run to 20+ pages on the forum with all kinds of stories of who is going to catch what.

the angler who catches the largest carp of the overnighter wins a trophy (if no carp are caught ,then the winner will be the person who has caught the biggest other speices).

there will be various takeaway runs by a couple of members so on one will starve, also if anyone needs any tips on carp fishing then some of the members will help them out , the next venue  is going to be south yorkshire area so if you have any ideas of pleases that can cope with 20 anglers and is nice and peacefull then let us know, just koin the forum and get signed up as they are run on a first come first serve list, you do have to pay the fee upfront but if you need to drop out and a replacement can be found then a full refund will be sent to you.

watch out on the forum for a full report once we all get back home, with i'm sure a full set of pictures to go with it

YF v YMA Match

as of writing this update the full written report of the match has not yet being finished, i can tell you that YMA have won but by only 30lb and as it was total wieght and the yma catching a large carp at the death it was tight in what was a very hard match, once the sun came out (yes summer arrived for one day during the match) the fishing died off, so well done to all the anglers who fished the match and i'm sure that next year the result will be different
