Water Name

Fitzwilliam Canal

This is a small off shoot of the main canal in Rotherham, It is affiliated with the trout fishery of Thrybergh country park, there is no charge for fishing the difficult water but the regulars take quite a pride in the place, so take your rubbish home please.

I also pointed out that there is a community of water voles there so we do get wardens around now and again, so make sure you have your license with you. So what fish are there, well at the road end there are some nice tench and bream, and the usual perch and roach. Underneath the railbridge there are some reed beds. Plenty of poles and silver fish and slightly deeper water. I can not give you depths because it is not constant, when the locks of the main canal are opened the depth can vary by at least two foot. So as I said its a difficult water to fish when its good its very very good, when its bad its horrid.

Day Tickets - Free Fishing.
