Lindholme Lakes. Firstly, the current match record stands at just short of 150lb. The way the place is run and the quality of fishing would make the most obstructive and belligerent angler happy. There is an onsite cafe and also a toilet block and plenty of parking facilities. Most of the pegs close to the parking areas are suitable for anglers with disabilities. The toilet block does have a step, which would make it hard for wheelchair access (Thanks to Dave Thornton for the added info). The history of the big lake goes well back in the 1850’s when the lake was formed due to flooding. The smaller lake was formed in the mid 1980’s There are 4 lakes in total at this water, one of which is put aside for fly fishing only for Rainbows and Brown Trout, which is 4 acres in size with fish to 22lbs. The first water that you will see as you come into the drive is "Willow Pool." This water is oblong in shape and has a choice of 60 pegs to fish from. Stocked recently with small stock carp of 3 to 5oz, there are some larger ones amongst them to double figures. There are tench to 3lb, with chub and rudd also with better fish to 2lb. The fish are really turned onto expander pellets, which do tend to dominate the catches on all the waters. The Willows Lake is the newest lake on the complex having been dug out a couple of years ago. The original stocking of the lake included 13,000 fish made up of crucian carp, roach, bream, rudd, chub, barbel and tench. Later the fishery had a further influx of fish with 7000 mixed stock carp and 1000 blue and golden orfe put into the water. Laurels Lake is the new name for the Old Carp Lake, this redesigned and dug out lake now has just short of 70 pegs set in 3 acres of water. The lake is stocked with carp, tench, barbel, bream, perch, chub, roach and rudd, with match weights very impressive and into 3 figures. The lake now averages a little over 6 ft in most places. A new strip pond has recently been opened and has been filled with 20,000 small carp that do go crazy for the pellet. This water is designed for the match angler and has 24 pegs to fish from - water quality is maintained by feeding a constant supply of water through the pond. There is also some very big tench to over 9lb in the water. There is a further small pond at the top of Willows, which is again rammed packed with small carp. The Big Lake is the original one and is now a syndicate water. At 16 acres there is plenty of places to spread out. The water has some good depths and during the winter months the resident pike up to 20lb take fresh sea deadbaits. It is a large water and the carp in there run into the twenties (26lb the largest out this year), backed up by some very nice tench to 8lb. It is fishable on a day ticket but for coarse fish only, not including carp. As for baits take a good selection including, meat, pellets, corn, casters and worm, one of these will generally see you through to a good day. Day Tickets £5.00 per day. Keepnets to E.A. Rules, Carp must not be held in keepnets. No dogs, radios or wading, Barbless hooks only. No joker or bloodworm. Groundbait only in cups or feeder. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
