Horseshoe Lake, Wales. This water is situated in Wales! But this one is Wales near Sheffield. The water, a single lake is about 2 ½ to 3 acres, situated on a well kept caravan site. The water is deepest towards the centre, but a rod length out will see the best part of 5 ft to fish in. There are plenty of facilities on the site including a café and toilets. Many of the 20 pegs present are suitable for anglers with disabilities. There is a good mix of stock present with plenty of carp that average 10 oz with better fish to 20lb. These will generally take any bait that you put in front of them. There are crucians to 1½lb, bream and perch to a 1lb, with roach, rudd and tench to ½ a pound. The biggest fish in the water are brown trout that run to 8lb and can be purchased if you catch one. Maggot, caster and worm appear to be most popular baits. To ensure the best weights do not fish too heavily, and most of the fish are within reach of the end of your rod. Day Tickets £5.00 per rod, purchased on the bank, open from 7 am until last light. No boilies, meat or groundbait allowed. Barbless hooks only to a maximum of size 12. Baits allowed - bloodworm and joker, worm or leach, maggots and pinkies. Carp pellets or paste made from carp pellets Directions - Leave Sheffield on the A57 towards the M1, then turn onto the A618 signed for Killamarsh, you will then see the sign for Wales, follow this into the village and take a left turn into Manor Road, then a right turn into Forge Road where the park is situated.
